Review: Doll Wigs
1:00:00 AM
There was a sudden wave of doll wigs that hit the Philippine Cosplay market a few years back, but before I go on some of you may be going "What the hell are doll wigs?"
Doll wigs are brand less wigs that I assume are from China that aims to give the wearer doll like tresses.
I was one of those who really liked them because who wouldn't want to look like a doll. Searching, I purchased one that I could wear on a regular basis.
So we are checking the following aspects of our doll wig: thickness, softness and quality. I didn't include the wig's accuracy as we don't have basis for it.
I was so excited when my order arrived. Once I opened it I knew I made the right color choice, its shade was in the "natural" looking side. Another plus point for this is that it's rather comfortable to wear and unlike other wigs that gives you that itchy feeling this one doesn't.
Sadly, I found its fiber a bit rough and hard to manage (maybe because of the curls >o<). I wore it for an entire day when my friends and I went to the mall and it took a while to tame and get rid of the tangles that occurred because I was moving about too much.
Above we have a series of photos that showcase the wig's actual color under florescent lights, it is a bit darker than its original photo but it still made me feel like a cute doll when I had it on.
Lets proceed to our scoring!
- Thickness: (3/5)
- It's not too thick and not too thin, but there are times that the inner lining is visible
- Softness: (1.5/5)
- As I shared earlier its rather rough and tangles a bit too easily for my liking.
- Quality: (3/5)
- Though it tangles easily you can still fix it and comb it easily with a comb or your hand. I opted to fix it with my hand to lessen the effect on the curls.
- Average: (2.5/5)
- Though adorable and affordable it is not something I will actively look for because of its fiber. So the quest for cute, affordable doll wigs is still on!
