10 Things to Remember when Online Shopping

First time buyer? Online Shopping Veteran? Either way you wouldn't want to have bad service or be ignored by the stores. So I have complied a list of things to remember when shopping online or possibly anywhere.

1. Be the first the contact the shops.

Shops will not run after you. Remember you are the one looking for the merchandise, you are not the only customer in their line up.

2. Give ample amount of time for the shops to reply to your inquiries.

Some shop owners also have day time jobs or activities so it might take some time for them to reply to you but rest assured they will reply to you. If you are in a rush, check if they have mobile numbers you can contact, shop owners find it easier to communicate that way.

3. If the store has a store policy/FAQs take time to read it.

I cannot stress the importance of reading FAQs, they made it so that questions that may generally asked would be quickly answered without the need of sending them the message. When you see that the answer is not in the store policy or FAQs that's when you send a message to the owner, you won't really lose anything if you read it but instead you'd gain more knowledge about the shop and ensure a smooth transaction with them.

4. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

It is your right as a buyer to know as much information about the object you are planning to purchase, though if the item comes with a description make sure to read that too because the it might contain the answer you are looking for.

5. Please don't haggle.

It is fine to ask if you can get a discount but don't force your price unto shops. Think of it this way you don't haggle when you buy from the mall what difference does it make if it is an online shop. These shops have tried to offer you the best price for their merchandise.

6. Take note of the shop's schedule or shipping/payment cut offs.

Online shops have cut-offs (usually for pre-order items, shipping or payments) do not beg or push them to send your orders before hand, they gave a specific date for their cut-offs for a reason. Try to respect that, if you can't go to another shop that offers the cut-off date that you desire.

7. Research about the item you wish to purchase.

Do not expect the shop owners to spoon feed everything you need to know about the item, do some research and be specific. Shop owners are not mind readers.

8. Follow schedules that you were given or you have given the owner when it comes to your payments.

Make sure to pay on time as you have stated, it is inconvenient for not only shop owner but you as well if you don't pay on time. Delayed payments for at least a day or two is understandable but delayed payments for weeks or months is not acceptable and remember if your payment would be delayed make sure to give the shop owner a heads up that way they won't worry and they won't pester you.

9. Keep track of your purchase once it has been shipped

Be sure to be updated on the status of your purchase, you can't expect that the shop owner to watch over every shipment they have mad. Once they have provided the tracking number of the shipment, keep track of it so should you encounter any problems you can immediately inform the owner.

10. Be patient.

Do understand that there maybe times that your shipments may get delayed because of God made causes so be patient if there would a delays. The shop owners will contact you should there be an issue with your purchase, but if you really need it quickly choose the meet up option if they offer that. Just make sure that you follow their rules when it comes to meet ups.
