How to wear and clean your lenses
7:05:00 PM
Contact lenses were originally used for vision correction, currently lenses are being used as something to assist in aesthetics. My friends and I tend to hoard an insane amount of lenses for our cosplay & aesthetic purposes.
These lenses come in all sizes and color. For color we have the blue, green, brown, black and now there are double and triple colored ones. For sizes it ranges from 13.5 mm to 20 mm and the type of lens also provides different effects. One effect is that it enlarges and brightens the wearers eyes.
Below I am going to show a short "how to" for first time lens users.
HOW TO TAKE CLEAN YOUR NEW LENSES
Step 1: Wash your hands
Before anything else, ensure that your hands are cleaned. Our eye is a sensitive part of your body and you are putting a foreign object on it. We must make sure that both your hands the object are clean to avoid irritation.
Step 2: Handle your lens carefully
Lenses are very delicate, they are thin films that easily rip. So make sure that you do not drop them, once a lens is ripped you can no longer use it.
Step 3: Take your lens out of the container
When taking out your lenses, do not use your nails use the tip of your fingers. Again these films are very delicate. A scratch or tear will render them useless.
HOW TO WEAR YOUR LENSES
Step 1: Place them in your own personal container
After you have taken them out from their store package, place it in your personal lens container and soak them in your contact lens solution for about 30 minutes. I usually soak my lenses for about a day unless its an emergency.
Step 1.2: Take them out of their soak
Remember use your finger not your nails! Make sure it is still moist it would make it easier for it to stick to your eye.
Step 2: Prepare to put them on
Using your free hand, lift your eyelid and position your lens in the middle of your eye and gently let it touch your eye. With enough moisture it should easily stick unto your eye. Should it not stick just try it again. Once you are sure it has stuck to your eye, apply a small amount of pressure to secure the lens.
HOW TO REMOVE & CLEAN YOUR LENS AFTER USE
Step One: Remove your lens
Slowly pinch the lens using your fingers, NOT NAILS, to peel it off your eye. This might take a couple of tries before your succeed but you'd get used to taking it out.
Step Two: Soak your lens
Soak the lens on your hand to clean
the lens on your hand just to disinfect it once. Follow it by filling your personal container with solution & put your lens in.
Store your kit in a dry environment and make sure that it is in room temperature. Ensure to check your container and change the solution everyday to ensure that your lens will remain clean.
That is it for the instructions. I do hope that this makes your first encounter with contact lenses a whole lot easier~!
